A Discussion Of The Link Between Life Experiences And Mental Disorders

Mental Health:

Mental health is defined by the World Health Organization as “a state of mental wellness in which the person realizes his/her capabilities, is able to cope effectively with the challenges of daily life, is able to work productively and successfully, and can contribute to his / her community.” It is essential for a healthy society to have a population of healthy individuals. The mental and emotional health of an individual determines his capacity to perform his day-to-day activities. In order to achieve good mental health, it is important to take proper care of yourself.

Major Causes of Mental Health Disorders:

One of the major causes of adult-onset mental health disorders in adults is abuse of alcohol and other substances of abuse. Many adults suffer from alcohol and substance use disorders at some point in their lives. There are many types of alcohol and substance use disorders such as binge drinking, chronic alcoholism, intoxication, addiction, multiple disorders, and gambling addiction. Some of the physical health problems caused by alcohol and substance use are liver disease, problems with anxiety and depression, cancer, heart disease, stroke, diarrhea, digestive disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, and birth defects.

Many people have at some point in their lives been the victim of sexual assault. Most of the victims are women and children who have been brutalized by sexual predators. When survivors do report their assaults, they face a number of barriers in getting help for their mental illnesses. The most common barriers include denial of the crime, fear of criminal charges, and difficulty acquiring adequate medical treatment for their disorders.

Many adults who have experienced a traumatic event in their lives may require specialized psychiatric services in order to cope with their symptoms. Individuals who suffer from serious mental illnesses or have been hospitalized for a serious mental illness may also need specialized mental health services. In many cases, adults with serious mental illnesses receive intensive therapy in order to cope with their symptoms and behaviors. These individuals may have experienced a tragic event in their lives and require specialized mental services to manage their symptoms and behaviors.

Psychotic Symptoms:

Adults who experience psychotic symptoms may also need specialized mental health services. A person with a severe psychotic disorder may have hallucinations and hear things that aren’t real. They may become paranoid and believe that everyone is dangerous. Psychotic symptoms can be very dangerous and should be treated immediately. People with psychotic symptoms often get help when they experience violent behavior, dangerous behaviors, suicide attempts, violent behaviors, and other criminal behaviors.

Psychological health conditions like anxiety and depression can lead to poor personal, work, and social outcomes as well as increased rates of unemployment. Many people who have serious medical conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar, post-traumatic stress disorder, or major depression also experience other mental disorders health conditions. Anxiety and depression are very common as well as many forms of panic attacks.

Social and Environmental Factors:

Social and environmental factors also play a role in the development of mental disorders. Researchers have proven that some psychological conditions are caused by biological factors such as genetics and brain chemistry. Children whose parents have psychiatric disorders tend to also have developmental disorders as well. It has been established that babies born to mothers who had schizophrenia are more likely to have the illness themselves when they grow up. Scientists believe that the chemical changes that occur during pregnancy may affect the development of the baby’s brain.

Psychological Disorders:

Psychological disorders result from a variety of causes and reasons. Although most are caused by biological factors, the results of some mental illnesses are caused by external factors as well. Most people who have schizophrenia experience it for the first time in their lives when they become adults. For example, those who experience traumatic events in childhood may later experience anxiety, depression, and other psychological disorders as adults. Family life experiences, such as abuse, violence, and poor social environments at childhood can lead to serious mental illnesses over time that may affect the sufferer’s ability to function normally in their everyday lives today. In fact, women who have experienced early child abuse are more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress later in life.
